Pocomoke FH Edges Crisfield, Advance To Regional Title

The Pocomoke field hockey team topped Crisfield 5-1 Monday night in the Regional Semifinals. The Warriors advance to the Regional Championship game where they will face Queen Anne’s on Wednesday.
The teams would be in a battle early on. The Crabbers would draw a few early corners, but would never be able to get past the back line of the Warriors defense, led by goalie Domanique Farrace who came up with several saves. As the game wore on, the Warriors began to control more and more of the possession, and finally became the aggressors. But the home team would have a hard time getting any goals by Stephanie Pinchback, who was also playing well in goal. Finally at the midway point of the first half, Pocomoke was able to get on the board after Peyton Becker would get the ball in front of the cage then fire it home. Less than 5 minutes later, the Warriors would double their lead after Lexi Butler would rocket a shot home. The lead would hold going into half time.
The Crabbers came out of the break playing some inspired ball though. Crisfield would again draw a few corners before finally being able to capitalize. Lainie Pruitt would settle the pass in, and fire a shot that would go high and find the back of the cage. While the momentum was with the road team, the Warriors would find a way to respond. They would finally push the lead to 3-1 after Becker would find McKenzie Beauchamp at the far post, and she would finish. Just a few minutes later, Beauchamp would find Butler who would finish for her second goal of the game. Then as time was winding down, the Warriors would counter and get a break away where Butler would find Becker for the final goal of the match.
