Pedestrian injured following serious crash in Millsboro

Troopers in Delaware are investigating a serious pedestrian crash, that left a man in critical condition.

Delaware State Police say on Thursday around 6:00 PM, 58-year-old Royce Beauchamp was driving a Ford F-150 on Millsboro Highway, near Mumford Road. Police say 18-year-old Ethan Cabrera got out of a vehicle, and crossed the road to a home, but on his way back to the vehicle, stepped into the path of the F-150.

According to the report, the truck hit Cabrera, vaulting him into the eastbound lanes. Police say the truck was able to stop in the shoulder.

Cabrera was air-lifted from the scene to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, where he is currently listed in critical condition. Beauchamp was reportedly wearing a seat belt, and was uninjured in the crash.

Route 24 between Godwin School Road and Mumford Road was closed for around two hours, while the crash was investigated and cleared.
