Out-Of-State SPCA wins state animal sheltering contract

The State of Delaware has made its decision about who’s going to be in charge of animal sheltering in the state.
According to The Division of Public Health Office of Animal Welfare, Chester County S-P-C-A was selected to support of the state animal control enforcement unit beginning in January. Officials say it is a three-year agreement that may be renewed for up to two additional years.
While Chester County SPCA is based in Pennsylvania, all the services for Delaware will reportedly be at a permanent facility located in New Castle County and satellite facilities in Kent and Sussex counties, meaning that the animals seized in Delaware, will stay in the first state.
This move comes after First State SPCA terminated its contract with the State of Delaware and all three counties, which led to the state of Delaware taking over Animal Control.
Officials say the deal Chester County SPCA does include the possibility of more in-state jobs
