North Caroline Wins First Playoff Game In Team History

Before the start of the 2015 season, the North Caroline Bulldogs said they were going to win the Bayside – not only did they win the championship, but they also went undefeated throughout regular season play.

The Bulldogs faced the Queen Anne’s Lions in a big match up a few weeks back, and yet again, turned heads around the Bayside with their 42-17 win. While David Bailey has been a star for the Bulldogs all season long, but Kenny Jackson stole the show with several touchdowns in their game against the Lions.

Once again, the Lions and Bulldogs lined up against one another – with North Caroline being the host for the second time of the season.

The score was tied throughout the first half until Kenny Jackson broke through the middle to give the Bulldogs a 14-7 lead. Then Queen Annrs managed to score the equalizing touchdown on a QB keeper to make it 14-14. North Caroline had three turnovers in the second half some, but their defense showed up to play and keep this a tied game.

The fourth quarter was a defensive battle played out extremely well by both teams, but the Bulldogs offense stepped up in a crucial moment. With 46 seconds remaining in the game, Cameron Byrd found David Bailey on the right sideline and he scored a touchdown to give to Bulldogs the 21-14 lead. The Lions got the ball back and had enough time to make a big play – Ahmad Gray helped put the Lions in scoring position, but with time running out, Bailey had an interception that ended the game.

North Caroline took down Queen Anne’s,21-14, but it was a great, well-fought game on both sides of the ball.

Congratulations to the Bulldogs who are moving onto the next round of the Maryland football playoffs and notched their first playoff win in school history. The Bulldogs will be back at home next week taking on Elkton, who beat Kent Island, 16-0.

Also, a big congratulations to Queen Anne’s on a great 2015 season!
