Holiday sales make big differences for small businesses

The dollars you spend this holiday shopping season could make a huge difference if you decide to spend them at a small business. At least, that’s what small business owners are saying.

In downtown Dover small business owners say you get a more personal experience with them compared to bigger stores.

They add that by making your holiday purchases at a small business, you’re driving money right back in to the local economy.

“Just keep your dollars local that’s a good thing to do, you’ll know where your money’s spend and you’ll know who you’re helping keep in business,” said Ami Leaming, owner of Forney’s Ltd, a downtown small business.

Leaming said that most businesses downtown will be offering 10 percent all holiday weekend.

Across the United States many businesses will be offering deals as part of Small Business Saturday.
