Harrington Police Department does No-Shave November with a twist

Harrington police officer, Corporal Richard Baker, is already sporting a bit of stubble.
Since he has been off duty, he has a head start on his clean shaven co-workers — for No-Shave November.
Corporal Richard Baker, from the Harrington Police Department says, I’ve been growing it a little longer than the rest of the guys. I’m just going to continue where I left off.”
Typically, during No-Shave November men and women take a break from razors to donate the money for monthly hair maintenance to support cancer prevention, research and education.
The Harrington officers are getting hairy for a cause near and dear to the entire police force. They’re raising awareness and donating their money to the Dover Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors also known as C.O.P.S.
Chief Noman Barlow, Harrington Police Department, says, “Officers that go out there to protect and serve and putting their life on the line. Their families are number one and they are the ones that lose out sometimes when their loved ones don’t come home.”
Everyone in the department has decided to either donate money or stop shaving for a month to raise awareness. The average person going without shaving might not seem like a big deal. Harrington Police officers like most others in law enforcement are expected to be clean shaven when they are on duty.
Chief Noman Barlow, Harrington Police Department,”When you see an officer out there in uniform this is a cause it’s for this is why they got a beard and haven’t shaved because they are out there participating for a good reason.”
The Harrington Police Department tell us they plan to announce how much money they raised at a celebratory dinner with C.O.P.S. in December.
