Garage fire in Dorchester County reportedly started by furnace

A furnace is being blamed for an accidental garage fire in Dorchester County.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says the owner of the Key Wallace Drive home in Church Creek, discovered the flames in the garage at 3:35 AM on Tuesday. According to the report, 35 firefighters from seven area fire departments responded, and had the blaze under control in about 45 minutes.
Investigators say they flames started in the furnace room, and were caused by the gas furnace. The blaze has been ruled as accidental. Damages are estimated at $115,000. No injuries were reported.
