Faith Baptist hosts Serve-A-Thon

In an effort to improve their own classrooms, the Faith Baptist School set a fundraising goal of 20,000 dollars and they’ve eclipsed it.
As a thank you, students spent Tuesday morning serving the Wicomico County community as part of the Serve-A-Thon project.
According to school officials, students raised money by asking for donations from family and friends around the community.
Those funds will reportedly go toward technological advancements in every classroom.
Some of the students were at HALO Ministries on Tuesday filling lunch bags and making decorations.
Mark Zockoll, an administrator at the Faith Baptist School, says this fundraiser is much different than traditional ones like walk-a-thons.
“Our students, instead of going on a walk around a football field 50 times…are going to go out and serve and that really fit our philosophy: community involvement, Christian fellowship of becoming more like Christ.” Explains Zockoll.
This is the first year Faith Baptist has participated in the Serve-A-Thon; however, we’re told it’s something they will definitely consider as a future fundraiser given the successful turnout.
