DSP investigating officer involved shooting in Blades

State Police say they are investigating an officer involved shooting that happened in Blades on Tuesday.
Delaware State Police say it all started around 9:45 PM, when Juvenile Probation and Parole Officers went to the Old Meadow Road home, in Seaford, of a 15-year-old boy, for a curfew check. Later that evening, Officials say they noticed the teen driving a gray Dodge Journey minivan in Seaford, and followed him.
The Journey then reportedly pulled into a driveway on 2nd Street in Blades. DSP says that the Seaford Police Department had been contacted, but wasn’t on scene at the time of the stop. According to the report, as the probation officers walked up to the vehicle, the teen attempted to leave the scene, and started driving toward one of the probation officers.
Officials say this is when the probation officer fired one round, hitting the tire of the minivan. Police say the van then continued to flee, but was located around 4th Street with a flat tire, and no one inside. Police say they believe the teen, and two other unidentified occupants had fled on foot.
Just before the shooting, Officials say a male juvenile passenger in the vehicle was taken into custody when he got out of the vehicle in the yard of the 2nd Street driveway. He was not charged, and was released to his parents.
Detectives from the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit are apparently continuing the investigation into this incident, and warrants are expected for two counts of felony level reckless endangering first degree on the teen. The teen is still sought at this time. The probation officers were reportedly uninjured in the incident.
