DEVELOPING: Shooting investigation underway in Dover

A man was shot in the lower torso Monday night in the Beechwood Mobile Home Development in Dover, Delaware State Police say.

It happened around 8:43 p.m., according to Delaware State Police, in the unit block of Beechwood Avenue when a 911 call was made stating an individual was shot.

Troopers responded to the scene and located a 27-year-old male victim with a gunshot to the lower torso. 

The man was then taken by EMS to an area hospital where he is currently admitted and his status is unknown.

No word on a suspect or motive at this time.

The investigation, being handled by the Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit, is in the early stages and more information will be released when it becomes available.
