Delaware State student dead following car crash

A Delaware State University student is dead following a fatal car crash in Bear, Del.

Delaware State Police say the victim is 20 year-old Thalya Crawford of Brooklyn, NY.  Officials say she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.  Four others were injured in the crash including a nine month old baby.

The two cars involved were driving on SR-1 when the Ford Explorer carrying Crawford was passing in the left lane when it lost control, smashing into another car and going through a guard rail.  The driver of the explorer is facing charges for speed and agressive driving.  Police say drugs and alcohol are not a factor.
