‘Dawgs Roll Into State Semis

The North Caroline football team topped Elkton 36-15 on Friday night in the 2A East Regional Final. The win is the second in the history of the Bulldogs program and propels them into the state semifinals.
The Golden Elks would begin the game with the ball and facing third down, would elect to air it out down the field. J’Quan Benson’s pass would get tipped by Kysen Robinson and picked off by Connor McCormick. The ‘Dawgs would use the early momentum to drive down the field and cap it off with a 3 yard touchdown run by Kenny Jackson off a sweep on 4th down. Following a 3 and out by Elkton, North Caroline would kick start their next drive by a 65 yard rush off the left side by Jackson, before eventually being brought down in the redzone. North Caroline would take a 7-0 lead after the first, and on the very first play of the second quarter they would stretch their lead. Cameron Byrd would go play action and find Anton Black for a 21 yard score. The defense continued to dominate for the Bulldogs as it would get them the ball back again before the half was done. North Caroline would then go on a long drive, and cap it off with a another touchdown run, this one by Rodney Thomas. North Caroline would take a 21-0 lead into halftime, and never looked back as they rolled to the win.
