Companies show support for troops by offering Veteran’s Day freebies

Participating Applebee’s are offering a free meal to veterans and active duty military on November 11, from open to close. Dine in only, from a limited menu. Proof of service required. Locations on Delmarva include Easton, Salisbury, and Ocean City, Maryland, and Milford, Seaford, and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
Bob Evans is offering a free breakfast to veterans on November 11, all day. The free meal is for dine in only.
Cake Art in Downtown Salisbury is having a buy one, get one sale on cupcakes Wednesday, for veterans with proof of id.
Celebrate Veteran’s Day at the Milton CHEER Activity Center, on Broadkill Road in Milton, Delaware, starting at 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Denny’s is inviting active, inactive, and retired military personnel to stop by for a free Build Your Own Grand Slam® on Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 5:00 AM to noon. The offer is good at participating locations nationwide, guests with a valid military ID.
Food Lion is offering a 10 percent discount to active, retired, and honorably discharged military personnel. To receive the discount, active military, veterans and their families should present their MVP card at checkout and request the discount.
Select Friendly’s locations across the East Coast will offer free breakfast to veterans and active military on Veteran’s Day, Monday, November 11, 2013.
Golden Corral is offering those who have served in the US Military, including retirees, veterans, active duty, National Guard or Reserves, a free meal from 5:00 until 9:00 PM during Military Appreciation Night. Families are welcome to join, but only the veteran will receive a free meal. Eat in only. Golden Corral says their restaurants have served over 4.4 million free ‘thank you’ meals to our heroes in the military over the past 14 years, with $10.2 million dollars donated to the Disabled American Veterans organization in that same time period. There are Golden Corrals located in Salisbury, and Easton, Maryland.
Great Clips salons are asking veterans to come into any U.S. Great Clips salon on November 11, and receive a free haircut that day or receive a free haircut card to be used before the end of the year. Customers can also get a “Thank a Veteran Free Haircut Card,” which are redeemable by all current and past members of the military including active, inactive, retired, disabled and reserve members from any branch. The free haircut cards are redeemable until Dec. 31, 2015.
Hooked in Ocean City is providing veterans a free pint of beer on Wednesday.
Hooters invites all active-duty and retired military nationwide to enjoy a free meal as a “thank you” for their service. On Wednesday, November 11, all veterans and active-duty military personnel can enjoy an entrée on the house, served up with warm Hooters Girl hospitality, by presenting a military ID or proof of service. Guests can purchase and personalize 2016 Hooters Calendars to be sent to troops overseas as a part of Operation Calendar Drop.

Peninsula Regional Medical Center is offering free flu shots to veterans and their spouses on Wednesday, from 3:00 until 6:00 PM. Shots are available in the auditorium of the Avery W. Hall Educational Center, located on the PRMC campus on the corner of Waverly Drive and Vine Street, in Salisbury. Free parking is available in Garage B. Red Lobster is offering free appetizers or desserts, from a select menu, to all active duty, veterans, and reserves Monday, November 9 through Thursday, November 11. The Salisbury location is participating.
Texas Roadhouse in Fruitland, Maryland and Camden and Seaford, Delaware, are offering a free lunch from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. All veterans – including all active, retired or former United States military can choose one of 10 entrees, plus a choice of any non-alcoholic beverage during lunch. Guests must show proof of service such as military or VA card, or discharge papers. Free meal for military personnel only; free meal offer does not include spouses or other family members.

The Wicomico War Memorial Committee invites the community to join them in honoring military veterans at a ceremony on Wednesday, November 11 at 11 AM, at the Wicomico County War Memorial located directly in front of the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center on Glen Avenue in Salisbury, Md. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held inside the Civic Center.

On November 12, CHEER is hosting a Veteran’s Day celebration, with a buffet dinner, and a cash bar. An evening of cocktails, dinner, and dancing to celebrate and honor all those who have sacrificed and given so much to America and the freedom we enjoy! The event is free for veterans, and just $10 for spouse or guest. The event will be at the Warren L. & Charles C. Warren CHEER Community Center, on Sand Hill Road, in Georgetown, Delaware.
