Cape Soccer Closes A Chapter
The Cape Henelopen boys soccer team took the field at Smyrna to take on some Salesianum and what turned out to be an overtime battle.
Both teams had several opportunities to put the ball away throughout the entire game, but nobody could find a way to just put on the back of the net. However, that was a lot in part to the fact that there was solid defense being played on both sides of the ball. Despite the countless opportunities, the game would end in a 0-0 tie and would then open up into a golden-goal overtime period. Within the first ten minute half, Salesianum’s Gavin Howard scored the game-winning goal with less than two minutes remaining in the first overtime half.
Sallies got the 1-0 victory over the Vikings and are advancing to the state championship game on Saturday!
