Cambridge Football Tops Kent County, Advances In States

The Cambridge South Dorchester football team advance to the second round of the state tournament Friday night with their 49-30 win over Kent County.
The Trojans would jump out to a quick lead as on 4th down, Stevie Curran would avoid the rush, and find Marquan Greene for the quick score. Cambridge would come right back though, and Nathaniel Lowe would lead his team down the field and cap off the drive with a short Qb keeper off the left side. After Kent County turned it over, the Vikings would again march down the field and score another short touchdown run by Lowe. Kent County would look to answer but Curran would get picked off by Virgil Simms who would take it 55 yards the other way for the score. Curran would make up for it though, finding Takai Caulk for the score on an out pattern, as Kent County would cut Cambridge’s lead to 22-12. The Vikings would answer with a touchdown run by Emory Wongus just before the half though as CSD took a healthy 28-12 lead into the locker room. Tre Lake would add a score to open the second half before the Trojans went on a run. Curran would add a pair of touchdown passes as they trimmed the lead down too 10 before, CSD would finally put the game away.
