Broad Valley Micro Fiber Networks moving to southern Delaware

High speed internet is on its way to southern Delaware through a company brand new to the area.
Officials held a ribbon cutting on Tuesday welcoming Broad Valley Micro Fiber Networks to Sussex County. The Broad Valley team began researching broadband issues in rural Delaware in mid-2013 with the Sussex County Broadband Coalition.
The company has developed a network solution they believe will address the pockets of unserved and underserved residential and small business customers desperately in need of broadband services in Delaware.
It’s done through what they call a fiber ring. It’s designed to protect infrastructure so service doesn’t go down, ultimately boosting digital connectivity.
Peter Aquino, the CEO of the company says, “You’ll be able to access the internet at very high speeds. If you have a school for example, we’ll be able to provide one gigabits of bandwidth to the school immediately. There’s four schools that are actually on this ring. We hope to provide service to them right away.”
Broad Valley is on track to complete the fiber ring by the end of this year.
