Berlin hydrant flushing moved to Thursday

Heads up Berlin residents, the town’s annual hydrant flushing scheduled for Tuesday will now be happening on Thursday.
The flushing is a twenty four hour process that begins with the fire hydrants in the center of town and then moves outwards.
This is reportedly done every year as a part of their routine water system maintenance. We’re told folks might notice a little discoloration when they run their water.
It is typically a brown or red color. Town officials say that’s completely natural.
Laura Allen, Berlin’s town administrator says, “We monitor the system closely to ensure the health and sanity of our water. It’s perfectly fine. What you want to do is just run the water a little bit and that color should dissipate about a minute or two.”
We’re told if any Berlin residents have questions regarding their water on Thursday, they can call the Water Resources Department at 410-641-24-14 during regular business hours.
