Anchor Down! Bennett’s Headed To The Playoffs With Win Over Wi-Hi

The Bennett football team is headed to the post season after they defeated rival Wicomico 33-21 Friday night. The win improves the Clippers to 7-3, while the loss drops the Indians to 2-8.
The Clippers would jump out to a quick lead and take a 17-7 advantage into halftime. They continued to build their lead in the third quarter as Ty King would score on a 1 yard touchdown run. Then after a Indians turnover, Joey Geary would lead his team down the field and cap off the drive with a short touchdown pass to Matt Chrystome. That’s when the Tribe would make their move. Jason Paterson would march his team down the field as Nate Gaines would score on a sweep off the left side. WiHi would recover an onside kick, and the a couple plays later Paterson would find Barry Gaines Jr. for a 45 yard touchdown score. WiHi would then recover yet another onside kick and have a chance to make a play down 10 with under 3 minutes to go. But Steven Sabo would come up with the interception, and that would end any comebacks hope. Bennett would close it out from there for the win.
