330 million dollar increase in Del. transportation fund

Thanks to an increase in the Transportation Trust Fund revenue, dozens of new projects and some that have been delayed will get moving.
One project includes the “Little Heaven Grade Separated Intersection” which broke ground on Monday morning.
The 40-million project is an overpass that will overlook Bowers Beach Road by the fall of 2018.
Governor Jack Markell approved the trust fund increase during the 2015 legislative session.
“Let’s face it.” Explained Governor Markell. “I mean, you’re talking about people getting to work, to school, to the beach, companies moving their products so investing in transportation continues to be a really important investment for our state and for our country.”
The funds are expected to last for the next six years with the appropriations split evenly among projects year-to-year.
