Worcester Prep Girls Soccer Cap Perfect Season With ESIAC Title

The Worcester Prep girls soccer team took on Saints Peter and Paul in the ESIAC Championship game Friday afternoon, and came away with a 4-0 win. The win caps off a perfect season for the Mallards.

Worcester Prep would control the ball early, but the back line of the Sabres defense would limit any good scoring opportunities. Saints Peter and Paul would counter and have several good scoring opportunities themselves, but neither team was able to find the back of the net. Finally at the midway point of the first half, the home team would take the lead after a cross by Delaney Abercrombie would find Julia D’Antonio, who would put it home. They would take a 1-0 lead into half though after Sophia Marciniak came up with several saves for the Sabres. Worcester Prep would then explode offensively the second half, as D’Antonio would add a score, then another by Abercrombie, then another by Karlie Southcomb. The defense would do the rest as they would close it out for the win.
