Worcester Prep Boys Soccer Take ESIAC Title

The Worcester Prep boys soccer team defeated Salisbury Christian 1-0 Friday night in the ESIAC Championship game. The Mallards and Jaguars would be in a battle throughout the entire game. Early on, Worcester would control the ball, and get a few shots on goal, but the Salisbury Christian defense wouldn’t give up very many clean looks. As the Game wore on, both sides would begin to get opportunities to score. Adam Prouse in goal for the Jaguars would come up with several impressive saves the Mallards forwards begin to press more and more. Finally, Worcester would get on the board after a cross into the box found Baylan McGuiness who would beat the keeper low to the far post. The home team would take a 1-0 lead into the break, and were able to generate several good looks to open the second half, but weren’t able to put any of them home. As the game got towards it later stages, the Jags began to push the envelope, but were never able to find the back of the net for the equalizer.
