Wongus & Vikings Offensive Explode On Homecoming

The Cambridge SD football team returned to action Friday night in their homecoming game against Snow Hill, where they came away with a very impressive 84-6 win. The win improves the Vikings to 7-2, while the loss drops the Eagles to 0-9.

The Vikings offense came out of the gate on fire, scoring touchdowns on their first 4 plays. Emory Wongus would score off a 9 yard run, off a 13 yard run and then off a 44 yard run to quickly build a 35-0 lead with 3 minutes to go in the 1st quarter. Taj Molock would then get into the mix in the back field, scoring a couple second quarter touchdowns of his own as the home team would quickly build a huge lead. To their credit, the Eagles continued to battle. Takhai Wise would lead his team down the field and find Daimain Thornton for the 25 yard touchdown. But the Vikings just kept on coming. They would go on to add a couple more scores on their way to the win. Tyler Harding would break a state record for extra points in the game, converting on 12, breaking the previous mark of 10.

Cambridge returns to work next Friday in their regular season finale when they travel to Easton, while Snow Hill host Stephen Decatur next Friday.
