UPDATE: One dead in early morning crash in Willards

Officials with the Maryland State Police say one man has died following a crash along Route 50 in Willards Tuesday morning.

Troopers say just before 6:00 a.m., a Toyota Camry crossed Route 50 at Woodyard Road, when it collided with a Mack dump truck.

Troopers say the driver of the Camry failed to yield the right of way.

The driver of the dump truck, Donald Hayes, 47, of Milford, Del., reportedly succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The area of Route 50 and Woodyard Road was closed at the time of the crash.
