UPDATE: Man considered “armed and dangerous” behind bars

An armed robbery suspect who was considered armed and dangerous is now behind bars.

21-year-old Esau Perez-Lopez, of Georgetown, was taken into custody Saturday night, according to Georgetown Police.

Perez-Lopez allegedly held up Mundo Latino Convenience Store on Cedar Street in Georgetown Friday, October 9, 2015.

There were no reported injuries during the incident, however there were apparently children in the store at the time of the robbery and police say Perez-Lopez pointed the gun at them as well.

On Saturday, October 10, police conducted surveillance on Lopez’s residence on East North Street and spotted Lopez outside the home, around 10:00 PM.

According to Police, Lopez was taken into custody without incident. Lopez was charged with robbery 1st degree, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, burglary 2nd degree, aggravated menacing, reckless endangering, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony,and endangering the welfare of a child from Friday’s robbery complaint; theft, selling stolen property, and falsifying business records from a previous investigation not related to Friday’s robbery complaint.? He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of an $84,000.00 secured bond with a future court date.?
