UPDATE: Driver identified in hit-and-run investigation

Troopers in Delaware say they have made contact with the driver of a 1999 GMC Sonoma, who they say was involved in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a 17-year-old victim on Thursday evening.
Police say Justin Trice, 26, of Easton, Md., contacted investigators regarding the incident. Troopers say no charges have been filed at this time.
The crash happened around 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, when a 17-year-old Seaford teenager was reportedly riding his bike southbound on Woodpecker Road approaching Old Carriage Road. Police tell 47 ABC, the teen was struck from behind which caused him to be ejected from the bike onto the ground, and into a cornfield just off the roadway.
The teen was apparently left there alone, until a passerby saw a bicycle tire and shoe in the roadway and stopped to check the area. Police say the driver then found the bicyclist in the field, and called 911.
The teen, who was not reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was airlifted to Christiana Medical Center.
Anyone with information about this incident, is asked to contact Troop 5 at 302-337-1090 or by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
Due to the age of the bicyclist, 47 ABC will not be releasing his name.
