Two arrested in Laurel for counterfeit North Face items during traffic stop

Two New York residents are facing charges in Laurel, after more than $17,000 worth of counterfeit products during a traffic stop.

Laurel Police say on Sunday, Officers stopped a vehicle with 37-year-old Jianli Xu and 39-year-old Xin Wu inside, for traffic violations. During the stop, Police say they discovered that Xu and Wu were in possession of 112 counterfeit “North Face” jackets, and three “Michael Kors” watches. The counterfeit merchandise was reportedly worth about $17,100.

Police say the two were enroute to try and sell the items at flea markets, and admitted that they were fakes. Laurel PD says they seized and verified by a North Face & Michael Kors business and trademark expert to be counterfeit.

Xu and Wu were both arrested, and charged with possession of counterfeit items and conspiracy second degree. They were later released on unsecured bonds.
