Tech overcomes sloppy game to defeat CR

The Sussex Tech Ravens overcame a mistake-filled game, to defeat Caesar Rodney, 17-6 in Georgetown Saturday afternoon.
After an early field goal, Pat Griffin scored from 17 yards out to extend Tech’s lead to 10-0. The Ravens offense, as powerful as any in Delaware would struggle the next couple of drives, and fumble in their own territory midway thru the second half. CR’s Mike Clavier would rumble in from 9 yards out to make things a little more interesting with a 10-6 halftime score. In the second half, both defenses stifled opposing offenses, Tech’s only score would come from a fake field goal, which gave them a 17-6 advantage in which they would hold on to for the win.
Sussex Tech moves to 5-0 and will travel to take on Smyrna in a huge Henlopen North showdown next Friday, while Caesar Rodney host Sussex Central.
