Support sought for crash victim’s children

There has been a strong showing of support after a tragic loss.
A Fruitland father died Friday after being hit by a pickup truck while he was out jogging but now, friends and family are raising money for the two young children 37-year-old Robert Schultheis leaves behind.
As of Monday afternoon, the You Caring account set up for Ben and Savannah had already raised more than 30,000 which will be invested for the children’s future college expenses.
Salisbury University officials are mourning his loss, saying he was a dedicated former president of the Alumni Association.
In a statement sent to 47 ABC, university president Dr. Janet Dudley-Eshbach described Schultheis as a great dad and husband to his young family. She also commended his love for Salisbury University, stating “Rob had a gift for making others feel valued and special; his warm and friendly presence will be missed.”
Schultheis was hit by a truck along the 3000 block of Meadow Bridge Road in Fruitland on Friday evening.
A spokesperson for the Wicomico county sheriff’s office says the Collision Reconstruction Unit is still investigating.
