Smyrna feasts on Howard for homecoming

The Smyrna Eagles improved to 4-1 at the mid-point of the regular season, defeating Howard 56-6 in their homecoming game on Monday night.
Eagles junior QB started the game on fire, going 76 yards on the ground to the endzone on Smyrna’s first offensive play of the game.
After sophomore running back Will Knight’s 5 yard touchdown run near the end of the first quarter, Henderson threw back to back touchdown passes, extending Smyrna’s lead to 30-0 halfway thru the second quarter. Howard’s Trevon Bordrick would have the Wildcats only score of the game, going on a 57-yard TD. Taking a 38-6 lead in the half, the Eagles managed to put 3 more scores on the board, including 2 by Knight.
Smyrna hosts Sussex Tech next weekend in a Henlopen North showdown. Game time is set for Saturday night at 6.
