Salisbury woman convicted of drug trafficking in Wicomico Co.

Jacqueline Nicole Sheppard, 40, of Salisbury Md.

A Salisbury woman is now awaiting sentencing after she was convicted drug trafficking in Wicomico County.

Jacqueline Sheppard was convicted Monday on numerous drug charges including possession of a large amount of heroin and two counts of possession with the intent to distribute heroin.

Officials say the charges stemmed from a traffic stop in June, in which authorities found over two hundred grams of Heroin in a shoebox along with a handgun in the center console.

Sheppard was arrested and a search warrant was executed at her house on New York Avenue in Salisbury. Authorities say they found more drug paraphernalia and another gun there.

According to the Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s Office, because of prior convictions on her record, Sheppard is prohibited her from possessing a handgun or rifle.

At her trial, officials say Sheppard and another person went to New Jersey to buy the heroin and then brought it back to be sold.

Sheppard is facing 128 years behind bars. No word yet on when she will be sentenced.
