Salisbury suffers another one goal loss at home

The Salisbury Men’s soccer team suffered their second loss in three home games today, dropping a 1-0 affair to Catholic University.
The Gulls had plenty of opportunities in the first half, including a penalty kick awarded in the 32nd minute after a Catholic yellow card, taken and missed by senior Michael Feeney.
The Cardinals would strike just nine minutes into the second half, when junior back Ben Sykes would take a ball down the left side, cut in and attempt a shot with his right foot. The shot would deflect off a Salisbury defender, and fall right in the front of the net, where Catholic senior midfielder Tyler Zimmerman was waiting to blast past SU keeper Drew Staedeli.
The Gulls would have a couple more big opportunities to get an equalizer in the second half, but none of the chances fell.
The Sea Gulls return to action this weekend as they travel to Buena Vista, Virginia to take on Southern Virginia in Capital Athletic Conference play on Saturday, October 3. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
