Salisbury drug dealer sentenced to 25 years in prison

Major Lenell Richardson III, 43, of Salisbury, Md.

A Salisbury drug dealer has been sentenced to more than two decades behind bars for cocaine distribution charges.

On Thursday, a Wicomico County judge sentenced 43-year-old Major Lenell Richardson III, to 25 years in the Division of Corrections for possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

The charges stem from an investigation back in January, which showed that Richardson was selling cocaine and heroin in a supermarket parking lot. The investigation wrapped up when Investigators stopped a car driven by a woman with Richardson inside, and a K-9 alerted.

During a search of the vehicle 53 individually-wrapped pieces of crack cocaine, a capsule containing .2 grams of heroin, and another bag containing .1 grams of cocaine were found in the woman’s unbuttoned pants, after she told law enforcement that she had concealed drugs for Richardson. He reportedly had over $2,400 on him during his arrest.

Officials say Richardson’s 25 year sentence will be served without the possibility of parole, due to his status as a subsequent offender.
