Salisbury accepted a federal grant to replace bullet proof vest

In Salisbury, the city has accepted a federal grant of over *twenty thousand dollars* to replace old bullet proof vests.
The federal grant is through the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bulletproof Vest Partnership Program.
According to city council President Jake Day ,the vote last night happens every few years.
That’s because the makers of the vests guarantee their product will deliver for a certain amount of time, usually about five years.
Officials with the Salisbury Police department say about nineteen vests will be replaced.
