Queen Anne’s Football Rolls Decatur

The Queen Anne’s football team traveled to Berlin Thursday night and defeated Stephen Decatur 34-6. The win improves the Lions to 6-1, while the loss drops the Seahawks to 3-3.

The Seahawks came out of the gates ready to play. After both teams defense would come up with stops on their first few drives, Decatur would finally put together a good drive and take a 6-0 lead off a Darion McKenzie touchdown run. But the injuries would mount from there for the home team. Tyree Henry would leave with a leg injury, while they were already down Dryden Brous. Then they got even more short handed after back up running back Ed Zonnak got banged up. The Lions on the other hand looked plenty healthy. They would march down the field in the second quarter and take the lead off a 7 yard run by Tommy Bull. Then after a Seahawks punt, Queen Anne’s would push their lead to 14-7 off a touchdown run by C.J. Rodgers. They took that lead into halftime, and the offense continued to roll in the 2nd half as they went on to get the win.

Decatur returns to work next Saturday when they take on Parkside while Queen Anne’s host W-Hi on Friday.
