One arrested on heroin charges following pursuit in Magnolia

A Magnolia man is behind bars, after Police say he fled from Police, with drugs in his possession.
Delaware State Police say on Tuesday, around 12:55 PM, a Trooper on patrol near Millchop Lane, noticed a green Nissan Altima with several equipment violations. The Trooper then reportedly attempted to pull the Altima over near Stevenson Drive, but the driver continued, going through the Meadowbrook Acres development at high speeds.
Police say the car eventually stopped at a home on Lambert Drive, where the driver, later identified as 31-year-old Ray Horsey, a resident of the house, fled on foot. According to the report, the Trooper chased Horsey, and caught him in the woods behind the home, where he was taken into custody after a struggle.
Police say during the struggle, a bag with 124 baggies of heroin totaling 1.86 grams, fell from Horsey’s pocket. They also reportedly found 2.3 grams of marijuana at his home.
Horsey was taken to Troop 3, where he was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, disregarding a police officer’s signal, resisting arrest, driving while suspended or revoked, aggressive driving, and various other traffic related offenses. He is now being held at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $14,101 cash bond.
