North Caroline’s (9-0) Beats Queen Anne’s For The First Time In 11 Years

It had been 11 years since the North Caroline Bulldogs have been victorious over the Queen Anne Lions, however, that all changed on the Friday night before Halloween for the sold-out game anticipating 3,000 fans in attendance. Questions swirled around Delmarva with – could North Caroline remain undefeated or could the Lions steal their thunder and hand them a loss? North Caroline came out ready to show Delmarva what this squad can do on the field.

The Bulldogs would take a 7-0 lead after one quarter of play from a Kenny Jackson touchdown, but North Caroline had bigger plans for the second quarter. Offense wins games, but defense wins championships rang true tonight when Navar Solis forced a fumble and Connor McCormick recovered it and took it in for a touchdown taking a 14-3 lead. After another big defensive stop, the Bulldogs found the ball in their hands once again, but Cameron Byrd nearly threw an interception to Carlos Cain Wilson, but the ref claims he was out-of-bounds – after replay, it looks as though that call might have been overturned and North Caroline used it to their advantage. Two plays later, Kenny Jackson scored his second touchdown of the night to make it 21-3 and he would add one more before half to make it a 28-3 ball game at halftime.

Jackson decided to pass off he scoring torch to his teammate Anton Black, who would go on to score two touchdowns of his own. Meanwhile, Queen Anne’s notched their first touchdown of the game with a run from Ahmad Gray. The Lions tallies one more touchdown on the night, but the Bulldogs, for the most part, silenced a very good offense and ran around and through a very good defense.

North Caroline gets the win over Queen Anne’s on their Homecoming night and holds onto their perfect 9-0 record in a storm-the-field fashion. The Bulldogs close it out 42-17 over the Lions.
