New education initiative launched by White House

An education initiative aimed at “Generation Z” has been launched nationwide.
According to white house officials, the “Reach Higher” initiative hopes to inspire young people between ages 14 and 19 to complete education past high school; this includes a professional training program, community college or four-year institute.
This campaign is teaming up with over 20 businesses, social media platforms, and non-profits.
Kevin Fallon, director of Career Services at Salisbury University, says this campaign could potentially inspire students to think ahead and approach college differently.
“It’s got to be something where the student says “Okay, what am I going to do? How am I going to connect this with what I’m passionate and energetic about? Where do my skills lie?” Explains Fallon, “Students need to be strategically thinking at a much earlier age now.”
White House officials say they hope by the year 2020, America will once again have the highest proportion of college graduates in the world.
