Lions feast on Warriors in weather shortened game

The Queen Anne’s County Lions improved to 5-1 on the season, their fifth win in a row, defeating Easton 27-14, in a game that didnt get thru the second quarter, but will be considered final.

Carlos Williams got the party started for the Lions, picking off Easton QB Mason Ledford on his first pass attempt and taking it back 45 yards to the endzone. With a 7-0 lead, the Queen Anne’s offense went to work. The Lions engineered a drive that ended in a 1-yard Tommy Bull touchdown run, and a 14-0 lead on the scoreboard.

Ledford would respond on his next possession, hitting Tyquan Beckett on a 67-yard touchdown pass, cutting into the Lions lead. Queen Anne’s running back Ahmad Gray would then go 52-yards to the endzone on a handoff, retaining the Lions two score lead. The teams would trade touchdowns once more before lightning was spotted in the area. After delaying a couple of times, Queen Anne’s coach Donny Graef and Easton head coach Matt Griffith met with officials and decided to call the game final with just over 5 minutes remaining in the game.

Queen Anne’s looks to stay hot, traveling to Berlin to take on Stephen Decatur, while Easton hosts John Carroll (MD).
