Limited state of emergency issued for Delaware, Guard standing by

The Delaware National Guard is prepared to support during the rough weather, if necessary.
On Friday, Governor Jack Markell’s issued a Limited State of Emergency in Sussex County, for the severe weather event.
“We are leaning forward, preparing to assist the citizens of Delaware through the Delaware Emergency Management Agency,” said Maj. Gen. Frank Vavala, Adjutant General, Delaware National Guard. “While no one is sure exactly what the storm will bring, we are in constant communication with other response agencies in the state – and are prepared.”
At this time, Officials say 20 soldiers and airmen are on-duty, and they have about 100 more on standby. All available to help where needed with tasks like assisting stranded motorists and evacuees, transporting emergency staff, provide traffic control, access control points, and medical personnel should medical shelters be operational.
