Lewes man charged with indecent exposure in Rehoboth

A Lewes man is facing indecent exposure charges, after he reportedly flashed a woman.
Rehoboth Beach Police say around 11:20 AM on Monday, Officers responded to reports of an indecent exposure incident near the Henlopen Hotel. Once on scene, Officers say they met with a woman who said earlier that morning, around 7:45 AM, a man in his early 60s exposed his genitals near Pennsylvania Avenue on the beach.
The woman reportedly told Officers that she was walking on the beach, when the man, later identified as 61-year-old John Hurd, walked up to her near the Jetty, and started taking to her. According to the report, Hurd pulled down his pants during the conversation, and exposed himself. The woman reportedly hurried away from Hurd, as he started performing a lewd act on himself.
Police say Hurd is no stranger to the department, and has been involved in suspicious behavior complaints. He was also later reportedly identified by the victim. On Tuesday, Hurd was arrested, and charged with lewdness, and indecent exposure before being released on a $1,500 unsecured bond.
He was also ordered to have no contact with the victim, and was banned from the limits of the City of Rehoboth Beach. Hurd is reportedly scheduled for a court appearance on November 16.
