Laurel woman arrested after reportedly fleeing from custody

A Laurel woman was arrested twice on Tuesday, after she reportedly escaped custody, was was located again later.

On Tuesday, Laurel Police say they Officers responded to the Royal Farms, after getting a tip about a woman with warrants on the property. Once on scene, Officers found 31-year-old Krystal Headley, who reportedly gave a fake name, and was in possession of drug paraphernalia and stolen property.

Headley was eventually taken into custody, and brought to the Laurel Police Department for arraignment. According to the report, while Headley was waiting, she was able to slip out of her handcuffs, and escape.

After a several hour search, Police say they found Headley hiding inside a tractor/trailer that was leaving the town limits. Headley was then brought back to the Laurel Police Department, and ordered to be held at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $5,200 cash bond.
