It’s time to start talking about assisted death in MD

Just last week California passed their End of Life Option Act, a bill that would allow someone given they fit the criteria to obtain prescription medicine that would kill them.
Last year a similar version of the bill failed to pass in Maryland but delegate Shane Pendergrass said she believes a new version that they are working through now will have success.
Why is this relevant now? Pendergrass said now is the time to reach out to your representative to voice your feelings towards assisted death. Because the interim period, which we’re in now, is the best time for constituents to reach their respective delegates.
Some of the parameters would include a prognosis that the patient has less than six months to live.
On top of that, the patient would have to make multiple requests for this prescription. Once, orally to doctor. Then another written request that would then have to be verified by two doctors. Lastly, the person would have be deemed capable of making medical decisions.
