Given initial forecasts OC officials call this weekend a win

Although as of Sunday part of Ocean City officials say that they’re happy with the way this weekend has played out, especially given what was originally forecasted.
Ocean City prepared for the landfall of hurricane Joaquin, but officials say they lucked out when that didn’t happen this weekend.
“We’re really 3-0 when we look at it between Sandy, Irene and the pending storm that went out to sea. We’re very fortunate this was just another exercise for Ocean City, the departments in the community worked together and we’re ready to have the sun come back out,” said Joseph Theibald, emergency services director for the town of Ocean City.
Sunday, Mayor Rick Meehan said the cleanup process has already started and that things should back to normal by next weekend.
“We don’t have any major issues that have to be addressed, it’s cleanup, we’ve been through this drill before. Everybody knows what to do. I think there will be very few remnants of even the storm itself by the time next weekend rolls around,” Meehan said.
The silver lining in all of this Meehand said, is that during the flooding there were no injuries reported and no damage to speak of.
