Georgetown PD looking for armed and dangerous robbery suspect

Police in Georgetown say they are searching for an armed robbery suspect, who they are considering armed and dangerous.
The Georgetown Police Department says on Friday, just after 12:00 PM, someone forced their way through a locked door into the Mundo Latino Convenience Store on Cedar Street, and pulled what appeared to be a semi-automatic handgun, before demanding money from the clerk working the checkout area. During the robbery there were children inside, and Police say at one point the suspect pointed the handgun at them.
The suspect apparently eventually fled the area with an undisclosed amount of cash, in a gray-in-color, four-door Kia with tinted windows, with an unknown Delaware plate. Police say during their investigation, they identified the suspect as 21-year-old Esau Perez-Lopez of Georgetown. Police apparently haven’t been able to locate Perez-Lopez, and are now asking for the public’s assistance.
Georgetown PD say Perez-Lopez, who should be considered armed and dangerous, is a known drug user who frequents the Bridgeville and Seaford areas. Warrants are now on file for him, for robbery first degree, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, burglary second degree, aggravated menacing, reckless endangering, and endangering the welfare of a child. Police say there is also a warrant for a previous investigation, that includes theft, selling stolen property, and falsifying business records.
Anyone with information on Perez-Lopez’s whereabouts is asked to contact 911 or the Georgetown Police Department at 302-856-6613.
