Felton man arrested for marijuana grow operation

A Felton man is behind bars, after State Police say they found marijuana growing in his house and barn.
Delaware State Police say on Thursday morning just before 9:00 AM, they wrapped up a month long investigation when the the Kent County Drug Task Force with the assistance of the Kent County Governor’s Task Force searched a property on South DuPont Highway in Felton.
At the scene, Investigators say they arrested 29-year-old Michael Garcia. During the search of both the property and the home, Police say they found a total of 13,381 grams of marijuana being grown outside the house, and dried in a barn. Police also reportedly found a Ruger .22 caliber handgun, a Sig Sauer .223 caliber rifle, and a Remington .308 caliber rifle, inside of the home.
Garcia was taken to Troop 3, where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance in a tier 5 quantity, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, four counts of possession of a firearm/ammunition by a person prohibited, three counts of possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited who also possesses a controlled substance, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was later released after posting $24,200 bond.
