Family dog dies in electrical fire at Cambridge home

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office say, they are investigating a house fire in Cambridge, that took the life of a family pet.

According to reports, Rescue and neighboring fire departments responded to a home on Pine Street at about 2:40 PM on Wednesday. It apparently took 45 firefighters, about an hour to put out the flames.

Investigators have confirmed that the blaze started on the first floor living room, of the two story home, and have ruled it accidental, as it was caused by the electrical system.

Officials say, one canine died in the fire. No other injuries were reported. The cost of lost is about $150,000. The American Red Cross is reportedly assisting the occupants.
