DSP investigate attempted armed robbery

Members of the Delaware State Police say they are investigating an attempted robbery of a man on Wednesday evening.
Police say the incident happened around 9:20 P.M. in the Canterbury Crossing area, when a 28-year-old man was approached and assaulted by two suspects.
Troopers say at one point, a suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money from the victim, who was then reportedly able to break free of their grasp and run back to the residence.
Troopers say the assault continued in the residence, where a 60-year-old male intervened. According to police, it was then that one of the suspects dropped the weapon, which turned out to be a BB gun.
Police say the two suspects then ran out of the house empty-handed, and fled in the direction of Route 13.
Troopers say the 28-year-old victim received minor injuries, and the 60-year-old victim was unharmed.
Investigators describe the victims as black males, 5’08” to 6’01” tall, wearing masks over their faces.
