Delmar Volleyball Tops Woodbridge, Inches Near Title

The Delmar volleyball team topped Woodbridge at home 3-0 on Thursday night. The win improves the Wildcats to 8-4, while the loss drops the Blue Raiders to 2-10.
The Wildcats would jump out to a quick lead thanks to their aggressive serving. They would take the first set, led by their senior Carly Covington, who’s jump serve was nearly unguardable. But the Blue Raiders would respond in the second set. Brittanie Stephenson would control the tempo at the net and the Blue Raiders appeared to be on their way to the winning the set, but that quickly changed. Bashia Korten was subbed in, and promptly served up 5 straight aces to close out the set. Delmar would then take over in the 3rd, and close out the match with a beautiful shot down the line from Le’Zhane Holmes.
Delmar returns to action Friday when they host Red Lion, while Woodbridge host Sussex Central on Monday.
