Delaware State falls on homecoming to South Carolina State
The Hornets of Delaware State fell to 0-7 on the season, in a 34-7 MEAC loss to South Carolina State on homecoming weekend.
A bobbled snap in the first quarter by Delaware State’s punter would give SCSU their first lead, less than two minutes into the game, as Tevin Richard ran the recovered punt in from 10 yards out. Two Dondre Brown touchdowns later, the Bulldogs would take a 20-0 lead into halftime.
DSU would get on the board til the score was 27-0, when Hornets quarterback Gil Rivera found Malik Golson with an 8-yard touchdown pass.
The loss drops DSU to 0-4 in the MEAC, the Hornets host Bethune-Cookman on October 31st. at 2 p.m. at Alumni Stadium in Dover.
