Coons calls Benghazi investigation a “fishing expedition”

The investigation into the events surrounding the Benghazi incident in 2006 has been a politically motivated fishing expedition according to Delaware Sen. Chris Coons. 

Tuesday in an interview with CNN, Coons said the select committee that has been investigating the case has done nothing but waste millions of dollars of tax payer money. 

As for Hillary Clinton’s scheduled appearance before the committee, Coon’s also suggested that will be waste. 

“I don’t think they’re going to trip her up or discover any big new surprise. I frankly think this is the worst  sort of politically motivated fishing expedition at this point,” Coons said. 

Clinton will appear in front of the committee on Thursday  to answer more questions related to the case.
